
Nutritionele behandelingen van artritis
Klinisch onderzoek op artrose en reuma
In de VS lijdt 30 % aan een of andere vorm van artritis, 20 %
heeft hiervoor medicatie nodig en 5 - 10 % voelt zich hierdoor geïnvalideerd. Het risico dat iemand artrose oploopt tijdens zijn/haar leven is ongeveer 44 %;
radiologisch onderzoek suggereert dat virtueel elke 60-plusser tekenen van artrose heeft (maar niet de symptomen). Voor wie deze cijfers nog niet schokkend genoeg zijn: tegen artrose bestaat geen goede medicatie, al is voor reuma de toestand beter. Vele patiënten nemen daarom hun toevlucht naar niet-conventionele therapieën. Dit artikel is een overzicht van nutritionele en fytotherapeutische remedies waarrond in de laatste decennia formeel onderzoek is gevoerd.
