Ayurveda for Babies and Children
Lezing
Dr. (Ind.) Alaknanda Rao

Ayurveda has its own unique way of taking care of a child even before it is conceived.

Ayurvedic paediatrics classifies children in three groups based on their diet: 'Ksheerad' - nursing babies, 'Ksheerannad' - toddlers that eat some food but still depend on milk, and 'Annad' - children eating all kinds of foods.

The children in different groups have different needs of body and mind care.  Ayurvedic child care is complete and consists of diet, life style, herbs, oils, Pancha Karma for children and advice on child psychology.

For common diseases of children, Ayurveda offers natural herbal remedies that are completely chemical free and without any side-effects.

In this workshop Dr. Rao will share references from classical texts along with her own experiences in treating various conditions with the help of classical Ayurveda.

Please note that basic understanding of Ayurveda is required as the Ayurveda terminology and clinical terms will be used in the discussion.
